El respeto por los ciclos naturales, la interrelación cósmica y biológica de la vida, son las características fundamentales de este tipo de agricultura proveniente de la antroposofìa, fundada por el filósofo Rudolf Stainer.
El origen del concepto viene del griego Bios (vida) y Dynamis (energía), y responde al hecho de que esta técnica trabaja en armonía con las energías de la vida, buscando la mejor relación entre el hombre y la tierra.
La idea que subyace a la técnica, radica en que cada ser se afecta mutuamente interaccionando energéticamente, no sólo entre los seres considerados “vivos” sino que además considera la relación, por ejemplo, de la planta con el sistema solar y planetario, especialmente influyente en nuestro planeta tierra, y la relación de la planta con la matriz energética que el permite desarrollarse y vivir.
El suelo es considerado parte integral de esta simbiosis entre la planta y el cosmos, y según Satiner, los ciclos de la naturaleza serían las fuerzas naturales y planetarias las que ayudarían al crecimiento de las plantaciones.
El aporte práctico de Stainer, fue la entrega del conocimiento acerca de 8 preparados para abonar los suelos y así potenciar el crecimiento de las plantas. Dos son los abonos fundamentales, uno hecho a base de Estiércol y otro a base de cuarzo molido, los demás incluyen preparaciones de compost hechos con hierbas como la Manzanilla, Ortiga, Diente de león, etc.
Como fertilizantes, Stainer elaboró el Compost sin químicos, ya que sólo debe realizarse con organismos vivientes, y se integra de desechos orgánicos que aportan los nutrientes necesarios para la estabilización del suelo, lo que ayuda a prevenir de manera natural las pestes, por la fuerza unificada del ecosistema total y de las cosechas a mano versus las cosechas con máquina.
La utilización de este tipo de agricultura en Chile, aún no alcanza una gran cantidad de casos, sin embargo, se evidencia el ejemplo de la Viña Emiliana que ha realizado el primer vino orgánico con esta nueva técnica.
